Nicor Gas announced today the promotion of Kris Nichols to Vice President of Engineering. Nichols brings more than 16 years of engineering experience to the position.
“Kris has been a wonderful asset to Nicor Gas and I am pleased to announce her promotion to Vice President of Engineering,” said Rocco D’Alessandro, Executive Vice President of Nicor Gas. “I am confident her expertise will ensure that we continue to deliver on our mission – delivering safe and reliable service to our customers.”
Nichols joined Nicor Gas in July of 2003 as General Manager of Engineering. In 2004, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President Engineering of Nicor Gas. Prior to joining Nicor Gas, Nichols worked as an engineer and General Manager for Wisconsin Gas.
During her time with Nicor Gas, Nichols has been responsible for pipeline transmission and distribution integrity management, mapping, control systems, pipeline safety and regulatory compliance, environmental safety and compliance, system planning and forecasting, engineering design, technical training, gas measurement, quality assurance, employee safety, and technical support.

Nichols earned her Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Marquette University in 1991, and a Master of Science in Engineering Management in 1997 from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. She also served as a Sergeant in the US Army Reserves and is a member of the American Gas Association. She currently resides in the city of Batavia.
