In 2005, Nicor contributed more than $1.7 million to support programs and organizations that make a difference to people in need.

| Assisted by community members, hundreds of Nicor employees and their families completed 28 projects in 21 communities this year. Projects ranged from sorting food at local pantries to cleaning yards and providing energy efficiency kits to senior citizens' homes. |
